DU BLONDE

About

VENUE AND TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED

In moments, Du Blonde is painfully honest about her own shortcomings, while simultaneously poking fun at her failed attempts at becoming what those around her expect her to be. During album opener Perfect, Du Blonde rides a pendulum between soft laments and strummed acoustic guitar ‘Maybe in time I can learn to be a quieter, simpler, prettier, better type of me’, and raging chants echoing the controlling sentiments of the ‘bad guy’, barking orders and threatening to leave her on the side of the road. The sentiment is mirrored on three-minute rock opera Lucky, through percussive, pop-punk guitars, her attempts at changing become almost a threat ‘I’ve been working on my demons and my personality, I’m just an inch away from being what you need’ – her desperation for acceptance from those she loves playing out through a wink and a grin.
