FAQ

Debuting in 2022, A Stone’s Throw has quickly grown into one of the most exciting new music festivals in the North East. Across its first three editions, more than 200 artists have taken over the North Shields coastline, with previous line-ups featuring White Lies, The Horrors, Sundara Karma, Vistas, Sam Tompkins, Pip Blom, Berwyn, Lauren Hibberd, Heidi Curtis and many more. Coffee shops, working men’s clubs, event warehouses and even CBD dispensaries have all been transformed into buzzing festival venues, bringing live music into the heart of the community.

From 2026 onwards, the festival takes place solely in North Shields across five key venues – The Exchange 1856, King Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank and The Engine Room. A shuttle bus service is included in the ticket price, helping festival-goers get between venues quickly and comfortably throughout the day.

The aim remains unchanged – to deliver a refreshing, unique and unforgettable live music experience on the coast, celebrating the artists, places and people who make North Shields what it is.

As part of the festival, there’s a free entry double decker bus service in circulation between venues.

We work closely with the transport provider & North Tyneside council to place convenient bus stops as close as possible to each of the participating venues. We recommend taking advantage of this bus service to when bouncing between venues.

A Stone’s Throw will descend onto North Shields next May 23rd 2026. Remember it’s a bank holiday weekend! 👀

A Stone’s Throw Festival takes place in the coastal town of North Shields, Newcastle.

One wristband earns you entry to every venue on the trail. On the day, you must swap your ticket for a wristband via the wristband exchange / box office.

The wristband exchange can be located at Salt Market Social – 1 Liddell St, Clifford St, Tynemouth, North Shields NE30 1HE.

We advise customers to purchase tickets in advance to avoid missing out. But! If tickets don’t sell out there will likely be an allocation available at Wristband Exchange / Box Office… more expensive of course!

A Stone’s Throw Festival is a 14+ event. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult when entering any venue on the trail.

Because of the nature of the event, not all venues are accessible.

The following venues are considered accessible:

The Exchange 1856
King Street Social Club
Salt Market Social
The Engine Room
